The Lawn

Enjoy the established garden with herbaceous borders, overlooked by the main house (not open to the public).

The ‘New’ Field Garden

We call this the ‘accidental garden’; it’s a series of beds sporting different grasses and many other exciting features.

Each bed was an experiment of what we can grow and will flourish in the heavy boggy clay soil. Sometimes we succeeded and sometimes we failed, but we were never stopped by our failures. we just try again, with the optimism that all amateur gardeners have. We are delighted that the lake has been visited by moorhens and wild ducks, who come back to nest every year.
